A Mid-Century Time Capsule

We sold our house, so are "shopping" for our next one. Well, trying anyways, the market is crazy. But I got to tour this property that was completely unique compared to anything I've seen so far, and I've seen tons of houses at this point.

It's like the place hasn't been touched since it was built in 1954. It's an Eichler-style architecture, but it seems like no real improvements have been made, aside from a 80's era looking stove (the original must have crapped out). The house just sat there over the years... It's incredible. I can only image how many lava-lamps and trippy parties this place has endured.

Anyways, we didn't put in an offer... I don't think my kids would sleep at night, haha! I would guess that it could take about 200k to get this thing back in shape, and who knows what more.

But, my designer eye couldn't help but appreciate the lines, the bone structure. I could totally see it being renovated to a perfectly mid-century modern state, and be worth twice what it's on the market for now.

I just ain't the sucker to do it. 😉
